About Ashley Ersepke:

Me in my favorite place: The redwood forest in the UCSC Upper Campus Reserve

I am an artist and science illustrator from San Jose, California. I have a science background in ecology and evolutionary biology from UC Santa Cruz, and I earned my graduate certificate in science illustration from CSU Monterey Bay. I draw (no pun intended) inspiration from the beautiful places I have had the privilege to live in and visit, the magical animals and plants I have shared these places with, and the fascinating natural history of these species. More recently, I have been interested in capturing the colors, textures, and compositions of the food we eat, and taking a closer look at things that are overlooked or taken for granted.

In my career, I aspire to create work that can be used for science education and wildlife conservation, or simply to inspire people to connect with nature and find interest in the world around them.
